So easy to use!

I recently signed up for the Essentials plan and it's been great! The drag-and-drop email builder is super intuitive. I got my first campaign out way faster than I thought I would. Will definitely shop again and tell my friends about it!

Solid platform with room for growth

I've been using Mailchimp for a few months now for my small business, primarily for email marketing and some sign-up forms. The platform is pretty user-friendly, and I found the Email Templates really helpful to get started without much design knowledge. The Campaign Reports give me a good overview of what's working. I did notice that sometimes getting in touch with customer service took a bit longer than I'd hoped, especially for a slightly more complex question about my e-commerce integration. Overall, the value for the features provided is strong, but a quicker support response would make it even better. I upgraded to a paid plan after the free tier, and it was a smooth process.

I'm just starting out and only have a super small list of like 200 contacts. Is Mailchimp actually free for that, or are there hidden costs?

T Troy Lindqvist 2 months ago
It's genuinely free for under 500 contacts, or at least it was when I started. You get pretty decent features too for a free plan.

Nah, no hidden costs really for the basic free tier. You'll hit limits on sends and features eventually, but for 200 contacts, you're golden.

Anyone tried using Mailchimp for SMS marketing? Is it easy to set up, and are the costs clear?

A Alex Walsh 2 months ago
I've dabbled with their SMS. It's pretty straightforward to set up within their platform. The costs are generally based on credits per message, so it's fairly transparent.

Setting up SMS was okay. The pricing is per message segment, so just keep an eye on how long your messages are. They break down the costs pretty clearly in your account.

Does Mailchimp do any good deals around Black Friday usually? Trying to time my sign-up if so.

A Andre F. 2 months ago
They usually have something going on for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, yeah. Not always a huge public coupon code, but sometimes they'll have special offers pop up.

I think I got a bit of a discount during last year's holiday season, but don't expect like 50% off or anything crazy. More like extra features or maybe a small percentage off for new annual plans.

My non-profit is looking for an email marketing solution. Do they offer any special pricing for charities?

S Sophie Kaur 2 months ago
Yep! They have a non-profit discount, I think it's like 15% off. You usually have to verify your non-profit status though.

G Greg 2 months ago
Yeah, confirmed. My organization gets the 15% off. Just apply for it on their site after you sign up.

Thinking of going with the annual plan to save a few bucks. Is it a good idea, or should I stick to monthly in case I need to cancel?

S Steve Kaur 2 months ago
If you're pretty sure you'll stick with it for a year, the annual discount is usually worth it. Saves you like 10% compared to paying monthly.

I've always done annual. The savings add up. Plus, you can always downgrade or change plans if needed, even if you paid for the year, you just get credits or adjusted billing.
